라우갤러리는 2025년 10월 10(수)일부터 11월 1(토)일까지 정선진 작가의 초대개인전《오늘의 이야기》를 기획 전시한다.

정선진 작가는 한지를 반복적으로 겹치고 배열하는 방식으로 화면을 구성하며, 물성과 색채가 만들어내는 미묘한 층위를 탐구해 왔다. 한지 특유의 섬유질과 질감은 화면 속에서 빛과 색을 은은하게 흡수하고 반사하며, 단순한 색면과 반복적인 구조 속에서도 깊이 있는 공간감을 형성한다. 이러한 작업 과정은 한지라는 전통 재료의 물성을 현대적인 조형 언어로 확장시키는 시도로 볼 수 있다.

특히 작가의 작품은 작은 한지 조각들을 반복적으로 이어 붙이며 화면을 구축하는 방식으로 이루어지는데, 이는 시간의 축적과 행위의 반복을 통해 완성되는 조형적 기록이자 작가의 사유가 쌓여가는 과정이기도 하다. 화면에 나타나는 색의 흐름과 리듬은 단순한 추상적 형식을 넘어 일상의 감정과 기억의 흔적을 은유적으로 드러낸다.

이번 전시 《오늘의 이야기》는 한지라는 전통적 재료가 지닌 물성과 가능성을 바탕으로, 현대적 감각의 추상적 화면을 구축해 온 정선진 작가의 작업 세계를 살펴볼 수 있는 기회가 될 것이다. 관람객들은 반복과 축적의 과정을 통해 만들어진 화면 속에서 시간의 흔적과 사유의 깊이를 경험하게 될 것이다.

Row Gallery presents the invitational solo exhibition *Today's Story* by artist Jeong Sun-jin from Wednesday, October 10, 2025, to Saturday, November 1, 2025.

Artist Jeong Sun-jin composes her canvases by repeatedly layering and arranging Hanji, exploring the subtle layers created by materiality and color. The unique fibers and texture of Hanji softly absorb and reflect light and color within the canvas, forming a sense of deep spatial depth even amidst simple color fields and repetitive structures. This creative process can be viewed as an attempt to expand the materiality of the traditional material Hanji into a modern sculptural language.

In particular, the artist's works are constructed by repeatedly joining small pieces of Hanji together; this serves as a formative record completed through the accumulation of time and the repetition of actions, as well as a process in which the artist's thoughts grow. The flow and rhythm of color appearing on the canvas transcend simple abstract forms to metaphorically reveal traces of everyday emotions and memories.

Rau Gallery This exhibition, *Stories of Today*, will provide an opportunity to explore the artistic world of artist Jeong Sun-jin, who has constructed abstract canvases with a modern sensibility based on the materiality and potential of the traditional material, Hanji. Visitors will experience the traces of time and the depth of contemplation within the canvases created through the process of repetition and accumulation.
